History

In 1857 Leonhard Monheim startet with the help of an italian chocolate maker the production of "Health Chocolate" for his pharmacy in Aachen. They have big success and in 1903 Monheim opened an own chocolate factory for all kinds of chocolate products. The best know brand was "Trumpf". Leonhard Monheim died in 1913.

After the second World War the company take over the produktion and in 1958 the complete Mauxion company a nother well know brand in Germany.

Since 1986 the company name is Ludwig Schokolade GmbH & Co. KG. In 1998 it's part of the Krüger Group.
